Our client is on the lookout for a dynamic DC Site Operations Director

The Role
You will manage teams of internal and external vendor resources that include facility management engineers and data center technicians supporting a range of end user systems. Additionally, you will be closely tracking site performance data, anticipate and address challenges, and operational risks. In this role, you will also participate and lead local and regional collaborations with engineering teams on initiatives and long term strategies.
A successful candidate will be contributing to our critical DC operations services through tracking and sustaining facility readiness, identifying issues and risks and planning ahead to ensure systems and critical facility platforms continue to operate as designed.
DC operations director will be closely working with engineering teams to review performance data and consistently meet and exceed availability and operational efficiency objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Establishing and managing a Data Center Operations Team accountable for the maintenance and operation of server hardware and supporting infrastructure at scale
- Work with regional teams that affect and deliver services to data center operations such as network operations, project management, facilities/maintenance management, logistics, tooling and supply chain teams in order to successfully maintain data center uptime to enable ongoing business growth
- Mentoring and developing engineers and technicians such that they can run daily operations with minimal supervision
- Build and lead a diverse, world-class data center operations team, developing both the technical capabilities and leadership qualities of engineers and technicians
- Collaborating with other Operations Managers in data center sites to evolve and optimize processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years’ experience in managing technical teams as people manager
- 2+ years of experience in a Data Center environment.
- 2+ years of managing personnel or equivalent leadership experience.
- Technical writing experience.
- Prior project and budget management experience.
- Experience with DC capacity planning
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- 2+ years’ experience managing managers
- 2+ years’ experience in operation roles
