About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Nautical Manager
to lead marine operations and offshore logistics for a high-profile offshore wind farm project. In this role, you'll ensure safe, compliant, and efficient vessel coordination, supporting the transport and installation of wind turbine components. You will be the key interface between offshore execution teams, port operations, and marine stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Marine Operations Oversight
- Manage day-to-day vessel operations: CTVs, SOVs, jack-ups, cable-lay vessels, tugs, barges
- Ensure compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, COLREG, and UK maritime law
- Liaise with Marine Warranty Surveyors, flag states, and classification societies
Offshore Logistics & Transport
- Develop and execute marine logistics plans aligned with project milestones and weather windows
- Oversee loadout, sea fastening, transit, and offloading of major components
- Manage vessel scheduling, chartering, and bunkering activities
Stakeholder Coordination
- Collaborate with ports, logistics teams, construction managers, and vessel crews
- Optimize vessel utilization, routing, and backload schedules to reduce downtime and cost
- Support customs clearance and marshalling yard coordination
Reporting & Compliance
- Maintain navigational documents, voyage plans, and risk registers
- Provide regular operational reports and KPI tracking
- Lead incident investigations and support emergency response planning
What We’re Looking For
✅ Qualifications
- Master Mariner (Unlimited) Certificate of Competency or equivalent
- Valid BOSIET/FOET with CA-EBS and OGUK (or equivalent) medical
✅ Experience
- 5+ years in marine or nautical operations, preferably in offshore wind, oil & gas, or heavy marine infrastructure
- Solid knowledge of DP systems, vessel audits, inspections, and chartering
- Familiarity with ISM, ISPS, IMCA, and OCIMF standards
✅ Skills
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication abilities
- Proficient in marine planning tools and AIS/logistics tracking software
- Calm under pressure with excellent decision-making in offshore environments
