Plant Engineer / Senior Plant Engineer (Heavy Equipment | Maintenance | Singapore)
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Plant Engineer
(or Senior Plant Engineer
, based on experience) to join our dynamic Yard Department. This role plays a critical part in maintaining our fleet of heavy equipment, reducing machine downtime, and supporting operations with technical excellence.
You'll lead preventative maintenance initiatives, troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues, and contribute to continuous improvement in equipment reliability and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical/hydraulic issues in heavy machinery
- Coordinate with operations to ensure optimal machine usage and availability
- Support fabrication, modification, and inspection of tools and equipment
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of maintenance processes and equipment
- Prepare and monitor maintenance schedules and yard reports
- Ensure workshop documentation, SOPs, and records are well maintained
- Assist mechanics and technicians with day-to-day repairs and servicing
- Monitor spare parts inventory and support equipment requisitioning
- Uphold compliance with safety regulations and company maintenance standards
Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in heavy machinery maintenance; more experience will be considered for the senior role
- Hands-on experience with diagnostics, mechanical and hydraulic systems
- Able to work independently, make informed decisions, and take initiative
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Cost-conscious mindset with a focus on operational efficiency
